Apple started in Steve Jobs garage. Countless others operate in a similar fashion. Just because a business is new or operates remotely or from home, doesn’t mean it doesn’t deserve respect and a professional image.
There are ways to promote your business that are not expensive or makes your business seem desperate. A virtual office is a trend in business that has been rising during the last fifteen years due to the economic crash of 2008. However, this ended up being a good thing for small business as it adapted to the way business was moving. Just as in the economic culture across the board, money was less available and so startups had to get creative about how they operated. Many chose to work from home. So the demand to service these remote business arose and so grew the virtual office.
Provided by local office spaces, virtual office services quickly rose among remote business owners whose demand for services than they could provide to themselves. Services such as a professional image, a presence in the business world, a profile and respect for all the hard work and success they garnered but failed to achieve simply because they worked at home.
These services included live call answering in their company name by a professional receptionist. This presented a wonderful image to potential and existing clients. These calls could then be transferred to the remote business owner wherever they were. No longer were they tied to home or had to pick up that call while there was ‘noise’ (kids, the grocery store, etc…) around them. Calls could now be transferred to a voicemail retrievable by email. Faxes were also made immediately retrievable by email as well in pdf form.
A business license address was another optional service that the virtual office provided. If the city the remote business owner operated in was requiring a place to hang the business license, then a virtual office met this need. In addition, this service allowed the remote business to use the physical address of the office space provider’s prestigious, brick and mortar address along with a suite number. This gave them a physical presence aiding to build a sense of trust between the rbo and it’s clientele.
Lastly, conference/meeting rooms, day offices and workstations added an additional element of professionalism that allowed the rbo to move in the business world when they needed to in a professional and elegant manner similar to their dedicated office counterparts.
The effect the combination of all of these services is called a virtual office package. The services can be leased separately as needed, however, combined they make a powerful statement about the remote business. Finally, for a small monthly fee the rbo has metamorphosed itself into a formidable competitor in their desired market along with their freedom.
